Darcy DaSilva

Darcy DaSilvaA singer/songwriter and musician from Moniaive, Dumfries and Galloway, Darcy Da Silva has been moving listeners since the age of 5. She writes and collaborates with instrumentalists Ollie Rigg and Neil McDermott and performs regularly with Roy Marchbank. She is also heavily involved in the Moniaive Folk Festival.

Darcy has appeared at the Wickerman, Immaginarium festival and Perthshire Amber as well as regular gigs on the traditional music scene throughout Scotland. Darcy’s music is inspired by love and nature, displayed with great eloquence. Folk roots shine through, patterned with a poetic mind and pure voice.

Darcy teaches piano privately and is working towards her piano performance diploma. She also has an orchid and an aloe vera plant, a beautiful little sister and enjoys spending time with family and friends. And fruit tea.

The Cracked Man

The Cracked ManThe Cracked Man was born from a shared love of creating original music, an experiential understanding of the fragility of the human psyche, and the fact no one else uses a slide bouzouki.

Singer and guitarist Marcus Wright is also a sound engineer and producer, driven to seek originality, clarity, and those sudden moments when you feel your heart could burst or break.

Kim Ayres likes to draw people into seemingly familiar but unexpected worlds with his photography, but is at his happiest when using a bottleneck, delay pedal and distortion box on a bouzouki never designed for such things.

Navigating a treacherous route between moments when they feel they could conquer the world, and times when the universe threatens to engulf their souls, The Cracked Man creates original foot-stomping, spine-tingling, brow-twitching, cheek-spasming, tea-dunking music that will leave you breathless but deeply satisfied..

Alan McClure

Alan McClure is a writer and musician based in Galloway, south-west Scotland. His creative output is eclectic and prolific, encompassing oral storytelling, poetry, songs, novels, short stories and audio sketches.

Alan's influences range from the psych-folk stylings of the Incredible String Band, to the lyrical dynamism of Leonard Cohen and Bob Dylan, to the shameless indie-pop of James, Blur and Oasis.

He plays rhythm guitar, alto saxophone, tin whistle and harmonica. He has had work played on local radio around the UK, as well as on BBC Radio Scotland and BBC Radio 6 Music.

Hope London

Hope LondonHope London is a native New Yorker who came up to Wigtown from Manchester in 2001 and decided to stay. Perhaps it was the Galloway moon that rekindled her nearly abandoned teenage passion for writing and performing songs that tell stories about real life situations. Her first album is called 'Aim Low' so it's all uphill from there!
