There is lots going on at this year's Newton Stewart & Minnigaff Traditional Music Festival, not just live music performances. We're delighted to be offering a series of music workshops, free to under 25's, photography, filmmaking and live sound work experience for 16-25's, a screening of Hamish: The Movie at the wonderful Newton Stewart Cinema, Pipe Band performance, Gaelic language workshop...you won't be stuck for something to do over the festival weekend!

  • Kicking off our Saturday programme of events we are delighted to welcome back Rhins of Galloway Pipes & Drums who have made this a tradition at the festival every year with a performance right in the heart of the town overlooking the Cree bridge and river Cree. You'll enjoy wonderful playing by this fantastic local band and then follow them down to the Belted Galloway cafe for a free pipes & drums workshop.
