Club Night - Audio Therapy with Rob Rogue

A night of 'audio therapy' with DJ Rob Rogue featuring a mix of House, Techno and Trance music, taking familiar songs/vocal elements and adding a more club/dance orientated twist. £FREE EVENT!

Rob Rogue grew up in Stranraer, moved to Kilmarnock aged 18 where he lived and worked as a psychiatric nurse for over 20 years. During his employment he commissioned an adolescent admission service at Crosshouse Hospital and found DJ'ing/music to be a very effective tool in breaking down barriers and forming meaningful relationships with young people.

He left the NHS in 2013 and was a postie in Stranraer for 10 years, and during this time was actively involved with a number of radio stations.

Rob has always had a keen interest in the science behind music and human behaviour, and came up with the "audio therapy" title because he believes that music can be medicine in some contexts, which has now been demonstrated scientifically.

Music and movement increase dopamine, serotonin and connectivity within the brain, so there is a positive effect on mental wellbeing while combining a physical/social activity. So the main goal is basically providing a space where people can get together, have fun and form new connections.
