Ivan Drever has been singing, playing and writing since his early teens in his native Orkney. Now based in Orkney he continues to play live and record new music! Don't miss the chance to see an incredible, Iconic, prolific singer-songwriter live at The Vault on the 20th April 2024 at 7pm!

The Vault Arts Centre are delighted to be welcoming the incredible Ivan Drever to perform live on Saturday the 20th of April! This will be a night of amazing music alongside a comfortable atmosphere and is not something to be missed! 

Ivan Drever is a native of Sanday in Orkney but is now resident in the Norwegian town of Kristiansand. A prolific songwriter, he is instantly recognisable by his unique guitar style. Ivan’s songs have been recorded by an impressive list of artists as well as featuring on the music curriculum for Scottish schools.

Having worked with the Knowe O’Deil and as a solo artist, Ivan joined Wolfstone in 1990, their work saw them perform worldwide and produced several award-winning albums. He composed music and performed with the dance company ’Celtic Fusion’ He was one third of the trio Drever McGuire Young with whom he recorded two albums, ‘The Gift’ and ‘The Return of The Shoestring Orchestra.’

Now resident in Norway, Ivan has toured England, Scotland, Denmark, Norway, and North America. A performance at the Orkney Folk Festival was issued on CD in 2021. Drever has recently issued a collection of his instrumental numbers from across his career as well as a live solo album and video recorded at Falkirk Folk Club. Much of his back catalogue is now being made available as digital downloads and limited-edition compact disks such as “Isles Ne’er Forgotten” and “Tradition”. His lyric song-writing, extensive traditional repertoire and virtuoso guitar playing have been part of the Scottish music scene for over 30 years and he continues to produce new material and perform live. Ivan’s live set features songs chosen from all his albums alongside several as yet unreleased new songs.
