The Vault Arts Centre is an exciting new music, arts, culture and heritage venue run by the Trad Music Trust charity to support the puposes of the organisation and the annual Newton Stewart & Minnigaff Traditional Music & Dance Festival as well as providing vital office space for the organisation and festival teams.

Dragged Up formed in Glasgow late 2018. Led by Eva Gnatiuk, with Simon Shaw, Stephen Mors and Lauren Peters, they deftly blend garage-psych, noise rock, art-punk, and post-doom Live sets are described as ‘expert’, embodying punk energy, ‘tight AF and with grooves inescapable’. Support from Alex Rex!

IVORY CUTLERY - A Visual Performance Inspired by the Songs of Ivor Cutler

Created by Evie Waddell (voice, BSL signed song, body percussion, movement) and performed by Evie Waddell and Sam Mabbett (accordion), Ivory Cutlery is a 50-minute visual performance inspired by the songs and spirit of Scottish artist Ivor Cutler.

The Vault Arts Centre is situated in the heart of Newton Stewart, on the town's busy Victoria Street, between Boots Chemist and the Avocet shop.

Access & Parking


Whilst parking is available on Victoria Street, we encourage visitors to park at the Riverside Car Park on Riverside Road which is a short walking distance from the venue. We have private parking and ramp access to the building.

Trad Music Trust

Newton Stewart & Minnigaff Traditional Music & Dance Festival will celebrate its 13th year over 10th-12th July 2026. It's an incredible achievement. The charity has created a viable, sustainable, event that continues to grow and develop, proudly celebrating the very best in traditional Scottish, Irish and World music.
