What's On Guide

As well as the four festivals the charity now hosts every year, it also manages and runs a year-round programme of events at its dedicated live music and performing arts venue, The Vault Arts Centre, which is a social enterprise project that supports the work of charity.

Outstanding traditional music from Ireland & Scotland awaits the Saturday night audience, with BBC Young Radio Scotland Young Traditional Musician of the Year 2024, Calum McIlroy & Band (Scotland), followed by Moynihan (Ireland) and Music in the Glen (Ireland).

Two truly unique performances for this year's Sunday concert; a rare duo show from cellist Juliette Lemoine and pianist Fergus McCreadie (Scotland) followed by the incredible Ríoghnach Connolly and Ellis Davies (Ireland).

Singing Session with Jim Bainbridge

A chance for singers, accompanied or not, and of any genre, to add to the welcoming musical tradition of this friendly venue. Local & visiting singers are invited to contibute to a relaxed & unamplified session of songs. A few tunes, stories, poems & jokes also welcome- or a stepdance if the mood takes you. Come and sing or just have a beer or a coffee and enjoy a relaxed musical afternoon in good company- no entry charge.

Trad Music Trust

The 10th annual Newton Stewart & Minnigaff Traditional Music & Dance Festival takes place over the 12th-14th July 2024. It's an incredible achievement. The charity has created a viable, sustainable, event that continues to grow and develop, proudly celebrating the very best in traditional Scottish, Irish and World music.
